Proceedings in System Dynamics and Innovation in Food Networks 2017. Pages 101-102., From production to consumption, palm oil is a global food chain facing various sustainability dimensions. The study focuses on Twitter social media communication strategy of world agri-food chain actors on sustainability of palm oil. The study focused on a content analysis of twitter messages of palm oil producers, agri-food manufacturers and retailers. Preliminary results show that palm oil producers aim at promoting public opinion’s positive image of palm oil. Food manufacturers and retailers instead limit their communication on reacting to consumers’ solicitations, such as questions, doubts or complaints on palm oil use.
Available online at www.centmapress.org, Results indicated that both corporate firms involved in a food fraud case lacked an immediate mandate to address the legitimate stakeholders' claim. "This study adds the action perspective to stakeholder salience theory, providing practical guidelines for marketers in the food sector who face wicked contexts, attempting to achieve transparency and common goals along with their stakeholders."

Findings suggested that mass mailing of injury prevention materials to be displayed in the retail setting may be a low cost method for raising safety awareness.

91 pages., La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general determinar las principales características de la Gestión de Calidad con el uso de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación de las micro y pequeñas empresas del sector comercial, rubro venta minorista de insumos agrícolas, Distrito de Moro, 2016. Para el desarrollo del trabajo se utilizó un tipo y nivel de investigación Descriptivo – Cuantitativo y un Diseño No experimental – Trasversal. Para el recojo de información se identificó una muestra de 7 Mypes, de una población de 8, a quienes se le aplico un cuestionario de 23 preguntas cerradas, aplicando la técnica de la encuesta, lo cual se obtuvo un resultado predominante que es el 37,5% de los representantes, tienen poca iniciativa por parte de su personal para la implementación de la Gestión de Calidad dentro de su empresa, como principales conclusiones se obtuvo que la mayoría Absoluta de los representantes, están dirigidos por el sexo masculino, con grado superior no Universitario, la mayoría tiene entre 31 a 50 años, son administradores y desempeñan en el cargo de 0 a 3 años, la totalidad de cuenta entre 1 a 5 trabajadores, y la mayoría cuentan entre 0 a 3 trabajadores. La totalidad de los representantes nos dice que la Gestión de Calidad contribuye a mejorar el rendimiento de la empresa, así mismo ayuda alcanzar objetivos y metas trazados por la empresa, en su mayoría absoluta usan como las técnicas modernas las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación, en su mayoría si conocen el término de Gestión de calidad.

23 pgs., Online Journal, Communication networks and knowledge sharing are important for the persistence of small farms that operate outside of industrial agriculture. In past years, internet platforms have been promoted as a tool for farm businesses to connect with customers and other farmers. Social media in particular has gained attention as a user friendly and accessible tool for small business viability. Drawing on Uses and Gratifications Theory, this study uses examines interviews with women farmers' in the United States to explore how they view the role of social media for their agricultural practice. Results demonstrate that women farmers report using social media to reach consumers, seek agricultural information, and maintain emotional connections with other farmers. Though important, women farmers are often overlooked in agricultural research and training programs. Theoretical and practical implications highlight how social media and agricultural trainings can promote media literacy and promote women farmers' success in agriculture.
