The station's receiving area corresponds closely with the Department's Port Philip extension district, The experience suggested that urban listeners participate in such programmes more than do rural ones, and women more than men, which may be explained by the differing nature of their occupations. The exercise gave the extension officers involved valuable publicity and experience.

After four issues, two questionnaires were sent out by mail, a month apart, to 200 farmers in the area. The usefulness of the Memo and of its altered delivery system were positively confirmed.
