Findings suggest that opinion leaders believe the policy has been slow to progress due to media promotion of the uncertainty associated with climate change science, the weakness of leadership, and the political cost of unpalatable policy.

Findings suggesed hat media reported food scandals are not significantly related to public concern about food safety risk, suggesting that food risk perceptions may be nationwide rather than region specific. Findings also suggested that more educated citizens with more media exposure were more concerned about food safety risk.

Author explained reasons and cited an example. "Journalism has had its extension work mapped out by conditions entirely apart from commercial activity."

Only 6.3% of 856 identified articles included a prevention message. Authors concluded that prevention messages are rare in media reporting of farm injuries and are decreasing over time. "Improved reporting is needed to aid in farm injury prevention."
Findings suggested that published reports focused on events and circumstances, but "did not provide information on injury prevention or the advantages of also coverage of the social and psychosocial long-term consequences of accidents."
