- 7 pages, This study aims to identify whether there is dependence between agricultural commodities traded on the Brazilian market. We used the bivariate copula method over a ten-year period to assess the extreme effects on the returns of the following commodities: soybean, wheat, Arabica coffee, and Robusta coffee. The relationship directly affects the dependence between Arabica and Robusta coffees commodities. While the relationship between wheat, Arabica and Robusta coffees, and soybean is positively dependent. Economic growth, market dynamics, and the prices of an agricultural commodity tend to increase the price of other commodities.

- 14 pages, To diversify the Nigerian economy and reduce dependency on food import, the Agricultural promotion policy (APP) was developed and implemented in 2016. This policy aims to move Nigerian agriculture to a commercial sector to ensure the creation of sustainable jobs and wealth. However, little is known about the effects of the policy on biodiversity, dietary diversity, and employment and income of the small-scale farmers who form the greater proportion of the food producers. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of APP in achieving social justice particularly for small-scale farmers, environmental sustainability and economic viability through sustainable agriculture. To assess the effectiveness of APP, focus groups discussions were held in six local governments in the North East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. APP food security thrusts of strategic national food reserve, proper use of agrochemicals and tractors, focus on forest food harvest and government support for large scale and specialised farms are very effective for securing food price stability. Moreover, food crop fortification is very effective in providing income support for households as it is the focus on forest food harvest, and access to credit and labour subsidies for small farmers. Encouraging organic farming is very effective in securing access to and availability of diversity of food, biodiversity and employment. Food diversity, soil fertility, biodiversity and employment also benefited from the provision of credit and labour subsidies. The outcome of this discussion is important for shaping the Nigerian food system. Though the APP thrusts are geared towards achieving sustainable development, Nigerian policy authorities should focus more on encouraging organic farming, credit and labour subsidies for the smallholder farmers, creating balance diet awareness, and forest preservation and food harvest to achieve food security, environmental sustainability and employment.

- 9 pages., via online journal, Since 2014, the Chinese government has initiated new-type urbanization under the guidance of ‘the National New-type Urbanization Plan (2014–2020)’, which embarks on a significant transformation of the model of urbanization in post-reform China. To understand the origin and outputs of this policy, this article demonstrates the context of China’s new-type urbanization. The paper proposes a conceptual framework of new-type urbanization, which mainly includes four aspects: humanism, people-oriented urbanization; inclusivism, benefits sharing for urban and rural; sustainability, development without sacrifice of resources and environment; and harmonism, coordination. This is followed by an examination of the case of Anhui province, as a pilot province of China’s new-type urbanization. Anhui has performed a lot of related work to promote citizenization of peasant workers and has made great progress on the reform of the household registration system. The study found that despite a special emphasis on people-oriented urbanization, the pressures and costs of citizenization of peasant workers are growing fast, accompanied by rising housing prices in cities. This insight suggests there are benefits and costs of promoting China’s new-type urbanization. Despite the advantages of institutional innovation, the unexpected side effects such as rapid rising housing prices actually undermine the success of plan implementation.

- 9 pages, via online journal article, Internet is a key for globalization and a tool for communication around the world. E-commerce has been introduced as a global phenomenon in the twenty-first century by internet development. The main goal of this research is to investigate the challenges and solutions of e-commerce in Iran’s agriculture. The paper is based on a descriptive-analytical type of field research, therefore a questionnaire was prepared as our data collection tool. The population of this research was a panel of agriculture faculty members in Iran. The overall results showed that the use of e-commerce in Iran’s agriculture has many obstacles ahead in infrastructural, cultural, social and educational fields. The research findings showed that e-commerce can provide many advantages like profitability, elimination of intermediaries, agricultural production market development, farmers' awareness of market prices, and access to national and international markets, increasing competition and improving the quality of agricultural products. According to the results it seems that infrastructure development, culture and security and confidence production, and internet training to all classes of people are the most important strategies for e-business development in agriculture. Further research in this area and using other countries’ experiences are some other proposed solutions for e-commerce development in Iranian agriculture.
