In her article Jeanne A. Leblanc states "Oh, yes, there's plenty of sex, or at least memories of it. And there's certainly old age, delineated with blunt lyricism. But these are part of the setting, not the theme. For more than 50 years, García's fiction has been mainly about one subject: solitude.
