Analyzed the content of four major U.S. newspapers, 1992 through 2001, in terms of their coverage of conflicts of interest in science. Types of conflict of interest: financial, professional and personal. Examples include the relationship between research institutions and the tobacco industry.
Online via keyword search of UI Library eCatalog, Analysis of 100 articles identified from the Lexis-Nexis computerized database as containing reference to "global warming" in four U.S. newspapers during five months compared with articles about the topic in scientific literature. This comparison showed that "the media coverage of environmental issues suffers from both shallowness and pro-corporate bias. The biospheric implications of these two flaws are touched upon."

178 pages., Includes strong encouragement for two-way communication between farmer and bureaucracy rather than the prevailing on-way, top-down approach that prevails. Also includes a chart classifying the factors that affect agricultural developmen, including cultural, motivational and knowledge factors. (p. 15)
5 pages., Author concludes that "genetic information is easy to portray as a new and scary technology, but fearmongering is largely based on misinformation, a misunderstanding of evolution and our place in the natural world, and vague fears of contamination. In reality, GMO safety testing is extensive and has not uncovered any safety concerns for current GMOs. There are other issues with GMOs that are worth discussing, but fears of adverse health effects are not legitimate." Cites a review of research ty the European Commission in 2010: "The main conclusion to be drawn from the efforts of more than 130 research projects, covering a period of more than 25 years of research and involving more than 500 independent research groups, is that biotechnology, and in particular GMOs, are not per se more risky than e.g. conventional plant breeding technologies."
Author reports on conservation education efforts among religious and spiritual venues, hospitals and healthy practitioners, artists and musicians, legislators and decision makers, urban youth, and prisons and incarcerated persons.
