6 pages., Pages 37-42 in 27th annual meeting of the Caribbean Food Crops Society. Dominica, Volume 27., Authors recall some aspects of agricultural information before analyzing the problems of this information sector, the importance of which sometimes is unrecognized by agricultural administrators, researchers, extensionists, and producers. Perspectives for the development and better management and use of information resources are proposed through the use of new information technologies (databases, microcomputers, software, agricultural thesauruses, CD-ROMs, etc.), networks, and the sharing of resources through cooperation at local, regional, and international levels."

23 pages., Authors used a baseline survey, an intervention, and an end line survey to assess farmers' knowledge of farming practices, knowledge level, and relationship between information source and knowledge gain. Interventions were provided by radio broadcasts and audio CDs. Findings suggested that '...audio media remains a vital source of information for resource-poor farmers and can greatly enhance their agricultural knowledge when audio media is used as an intervention."

Master of Science thesis, Agricultural Education, Texas A&M University, College Station. 121 pages., Results indicated that CD-based materials were more effective than were face-to-face workshops for teaching difficult turfgrass material to master gardener trainees. Participants were found to be participating in community development activities, but many master gardener activities were "development in the community rather than development of the community."
