- 169 p., In order to improve understanding of Jamaica's Citizen Security and Justice Program (CSJP) youth targeted interventions, the Office of Evaluation and Oversight Office (OVE) of the he Inter-American Development Bank's (IDB) commissioned a series of life histories of participants in the programme. The objective of conducting life histories is to inform the complexity of the challenges faced by young people in high-risk and disadvantaged communities in Kingston and St Andrew and to better understand how the programme has intervened in their life trajectories. This report contains transcripts of each taped session. The transcripts are preceded by a summary, which entails the basic socio-demographic data provided by each respondent, as well as the researcher's observations and conclusions.

- 115 p., The Inter-American Development Bank's (IDB) Office of Evaluation and Oversight Office (OVE) is conducting comparative assessments of citizen security in Central America and the Caribbean to better understand what has worked more and less well during project implementation, as well as the reasons for variations in outcomes. Jamaica's Citizen Security and Justice Program (CSJP) is included in the comparative study. In order to improve understanding of CSJP's youth targeted interventions, the OVE commissioned a tracer study of participants in one of these programmes; that is, one administered by Rise Life Management. The objective of the tracer study is to assess to what extent the social services provided by RISE to the youth in volatile communities in Kingston have made a difference in the lives of beneficiaries in terms of employment and satisfaction with life
4. Housing Policy Matters for the Poor: Housing Conditions in Latin America and the Caribbean, 1995-2006

- 37 p., Discusses the evolution of housing conditions in urban areas of Latin America and the Caribbean from 1995 to 2006 based on data from household surveys done in 18 countries that comprise 95 percent of the urban population of the region. The results indicate that, on average, the proportion of urban households facing housing shortages is declining. This decline holds for households of all income levels, particularly those in the lower quintiles of the income distribution structure. The estimates made in this study indicate that in 2006 lack of infrastructure affected almost 19 million households.

- 38 p., Analyzes total factor productivity growth in agriculture in Latin America and the Caribbean between 1961 and 2007. The results show that among developing regions, Latin America and the Caribbean shows the highest agricultural productivity growth. The highest growth within the region has occurred in the last two decades, especially due to improvements in efficiency and the introduction of new technologies. Within the region, land-abundant countries consistently outperform land-constrained countries.
