"The list was dominated by 71 books dramatised for film or television, and by 61 either written or set in Britain - though there were a few first published in foreign languages: Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment, two works by Gabriel García Márquez, and The Alchemist, by Paul Coelho, written in Portuguese." Love in the Time of Cholera and One Hundred Years of Solitude were the novels by García Márquez mentioned.
