The report also describes how hunger has led women to trade sex for food and how poor camp conditions exacerbate the impact of sexual violence because of difficulties accessing post-rape care. It looks at how recovery efforts have failed to adequately address the needs and rights of women and girls, particularly their rights to health and security.

Highlights the recommendations of the Abortion Policy Review Group which reviewed health implications in Jamaica and assessed existing laws in the wider Caribbean on abortion. Using feminist analysis the paper also explores the challenges faced by those arguing for legislative reform on abortion services in Jamaica within the larger framework of reproductive health and rights.

352 p., In the first half of the 19th century, the safeguarding of the health of the enslaved workers became a central concern for plantation owners and colonial administrators in the Danish West Indies. This title explores the health conditions of the enslaved workers and the health policies initiated by planters and the colonial government.
The article presents information on the Haiti Demographic and Health Survey 2012, conducted by the Institut Haïtien de l'Enfance. The survey included 14,287 women aged 15-49 and 9,493 men aged 15-59, and interviews were conducted during January and June 2012. The article presents several charts on the results of the survey including one on sociodemographic characteristics of the population, one on fertility trends, and one on mean ideal number of children among women.
