A discussion and information mailing list for the RSLP funded CASBAH project, Caribbean Studies - Black and Asian History. The project aims to identify and map national research resources for Caribbean Studies and the history of Black and Asian people in Britain.
Existing knowledge of supplementary education, that is education organized and run by political, faith or ethnic groups outside of formal schooling, is patchy. This article is an exploration of the histories of supplementary education in the 20th century. Presents some new historical evidence concerning African Caribbean and Irish supplementary education.
Examines donor's behavior and factors influencing donation, focusing on economic and financial aspects, social beliefs, and preferences; based on data from 336 people between 18-70 years of age, representing three ethnic groups (White, Asian, and African-Caribbean) mainly in three areas of Greater London; Great Britain.
An analysis of the experience of African Caribbeans in the postwar period in Great Britain. Explores both the relationship between migration and racism and the formation of ethnic identity of these migrants. Also confronts the political implications of the new identities being forged by Black people in the country.
