James F. Evans Collection; Three copies; Also published in Farm Futures, 15 (5) : 10H (1987 May), Mimeographed, [198-]. 1 p., Cooperative extension offices in the U.S. are using an experimental system called interactive video because it lets viewers participate. The program is a combination of television, computers, and video games used to teach farmers cash flow planning. The project is one of three the University of Nebraska is doing for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). A USDA survey found that 95% of farmers using the program would recommend it to a friend and one-third of first time users felt they learned a great deal. An advantage of interactive videos would be to give basic instructions and to free extension agents to teach other specialized skills.
