To determine the stance of providers in Jamaica regarding the suggested change in abortion law, a face-to-face anonymous survey of 35 obstetrician-gynecologists and 228 general practitioners in Kingston was used to assess knowledge, opinions and practice.

[Lolita Applewhaite] said the Rastafarian movement that "revolutionised the consciousness of the Caribbean people and many others outside of the region", pointing also to the strong influence of people of African descent in the creation of a "distinctive Caribbean brand".
Discusses the highlights of a 2-day workshop organized by Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR) held in Antigua, Guatemala. The advocacy workshop which coincided with the Latin American and Caribbean Women's Health Network (LACWHN) members consultation meeting in October 2010 focused on access to safe and legal abortion.
Testimonios afropuertorriqueños: Un proyecto de historia oral en el oeste de Puerto Rico (Afro-Puerto Rican testimonies: An oral history project in western Puerto Rico) is a collaborative research project launched in September 2006. Its purpose is recording the voices, memories, and histories of contemporary Afro-Puerto Ricans in order to fertilize debates about racial constructions and discourses in Puerto Rico and democratize the forum of discussion, representation, and analysis of Afro-Puerto Rican history and identities.
