7 pages., via online journal, The purpose of the present paper is to investigate the market potential of pork labelled to indicate medium and high levels of animal welfare. The paper asks, in particular, whether there is a risk that Danish consumers will abandon high level welfare pork if less expensive products with a medium level of animal welfare became avail-able. The study was based on an online questionnaire with a choice experiment involving 396 Danish respondents. The results indicated that the Danish market could accommodate more than one pork product with a welfare label but the price differential separating medium and high level animal welfare pork will have to be quite narrow. In addition, full willingness-to-pay of consumers who want to buy high level welfare pork cannot be relied upon to incentivise new consumers to buy medium welfare pork. Further, raising brand awareness in the shopping situation and improving consumer's understanding of brand attributes for high level welfare brands were found to be vital.
12 pages., Article #: 5FEA1, via online journal., Extension engaged rural Idaho community stakeholders to assess local resources and readiness to address obesogenic contexts through use of the Extension tool HEAL MAPPS. Through participatory photomapping, focus group involvement, and a community readiness conversation, residents identified environmental resources and local efforts as supports for and barriers to healthful eating and active living. Findings indicated that the community was "vaguely aware" that rural obesity risk is a socioenvironmentally determined issue. Extension professionals using HEAL MAPPS effectively promoted new and shared knowledge of weight health resources among community members, enabled rural residents to have a voice in addressing the community context, and empowered community actions.

increasing focus on climate change as the major preventable threat
to the health of humanity. The direct associations between climate
change and population health are well documented, as are potential
co-benefits of climate action.1-6
Australia is entering a period of climatic extremes.7,8 The socially stable
and agriculturally productive Northern Rivers region of New South
Wales is set to experience increasing temperatures, storms, flooding and
erosion.9,10 This will likely be compounded by changes in socio/political,
environmental, agricultural and economic systems with resultant
impacts on social and environmental determinants of health.11,12
How might a rural population of 280,000 respond? In 2007,
community resilience to climate change was neither a state nor
federal health promotion priority. The former North Coast Area
Health Service Health Promotion (NCHP) adopted one promising
direction: to foster a collaboration of existing organisations to
accelerate regional action on climate change.13-15 The former NSW
Department of Climate Change funded the pilot project: Resilience:
building health from regional responses to climate change. The
project incorporated principles from Complex Adaptive Systems
(CAS) theory with emphasis on the concepts of resilience and

7 pages., Via online journal., To characterize participants of a statewide healthy food incentive program in terms of shopping behaviors, surveys were collected at farmers markets (N = 436) and grocery stores (N = 131). Farmers market and grocery store respondents were mostly forty-five to fifty-four years old (21 percent to 24 percent) and female (72 to 82 percent). Grocery store respondents were more diverse. Farmers market participants were more likely to be female (p = .011), not have children (p = .006), and traveled further compared to grocery store participants. As healthy food incentive programs expand, participant characteristics should inform tailored outreach to expand to diverse populations to have a greater public health impact.
